Who doesn’t love being outdoors?

Besides cruising Center Hill Lake and wondering the state parks, there are also a ton of hiking trails. We have compiled a list of a few places around Center Hill Lake! Hikes are never boring, but they are better with a view.

Here are a few of favorite hiking trails at and around Center Hill Lake.

Burgess Falls waterfall Center Hill Lake Tennessee

Burgess Falls State Park

1.6 miles / waterfalls / bluff views

There are three state parks that border Center Hill Lake. One of those parks, Burgess Falls, features a huge waterfall and others throughout the park. There are also bluff views and paths that wind through the park. 

Hike throughout and make your way to that famous waterfall. Take a seat at the top of this 136′ waterfall.

Window Cliffs

8400 Old Cane Creek Rd, Baxter, TN

5.3 miles / waterfalls / cliff top view above river

This spot is located in Baxter, Tennessee. Strenuous and full of creek crossings – prepare to get your feet wet. The trail ends at 200′ high cliff tops.

Rock Island State Park

Another state park that borders the lake that is worth checking out. This park entails different hiking trails including: Twin Falls and Down River Trail, Blue Hole Trail, Eagle Trail, Collins River Nature Trail, Upstream Trail, Bluff Trail, Moonshine Trail, and a few others. Head to the park and there are signs directing you!

Rock Island is just another amazing place in this area that features waterfalls, hiking trails, amazing swimming areas and a nearby cafe. Add it to the list.

The third state park that borders the lake! This park entails different hiking trails including: John C. Clayborn Trail (7.3 miles and difficult), Highland Rim Nature Trail, Millennium Trail Loop, Evins Ridge Nature Trail, and various areas to explore. Head to the park and spend the day exploring!

By the way, there is also a restaurant at the marina. Grab lunch or dinner there. (It’s seasonal so call ahead) Ya welcome! You’re gonna love it.

Ragland Bottom center hill lake tennessee

Center Hill Lake has a few designated swimming areas. One of those is Ragland Bottom near Sligo Marina.

Ye Ole Red Post Trail is a 1.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located at Center Hill Lake that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
